Holiday Shopping Deals with The Gift Insider

Black Friday and Cyber Monday might be over, but the deals are still out there for you to take advantage of. Especially if you are planning to shop online.

I got the opportunity to chat with The Gift Insider, Lindsay Roberts, about how to find the best deals this holiday season.

Well, Happy Holidays to you as well. I am just wonderful. Now, talk to us a little about the role that shopping online will play this holiday season.

The reason it's popular first is because it's easy! We can easily do it at home and online. There are so many huge deals beyond what used be Cyber Monday. A lot of websites are doing sitewide deals for not just one item but for everything on the website. It makes it so much easier to find the perfect item not having to find that perfect doorbuster.

I love the fact that we have moved beyond Cyber Monday to more of a Cyber Week. Then for those who are busy at work, they can still experience the deals during another day.

Absolutely. One thing we recommend is to set price alerts so that you can get an email sent to you when the price drops. One of my favorite price alert websites is www.shopstyle.com. You can also look for coupon codes and free shipping. Retail Me Not is another popular app with great coupon codes. So there are plenty of ways to keep piling on those deals.

Those are things we all need to keep in mind. I have the Retail Me Not app on my phone, but I'm going to remember to look at Shop Style too. Now, what are some of the biggest deals that you've seen this season?

So with clothing, take advantage of the sitewide deals. They are HUGE. Land's End has 40% off everything on their website. They have monogrammed items, fleeces, accessories, and cashmere. You can buy everything in one cart. I really do recommend those sitewide deals.

Now one thing people might be hesitant about buying clothing online is if it doesn't fit. So in the chance that does happen, what are some of the return policies that stores are doing around these deals?

We definitely recommend that no matter what you've heard to always check the return policy before you buy something. A lot of the big retailers now have free shipping back and forth. So you don't have to worry about not trying it on or even if you want to buy a few different sizes of something. So keep in mind most retailers might have free shipping for you to return it back. There is also free shipping day. That's a good time to wait if you are worried about that aspect. So mark your calendars for free shipping day on December 17th.

Awesome. Definitely a date to mark the calendars for those people who are still getting things on those holiday wish lists.

Exactly. And we also have some great deals if you are using a smartphone. We recommend the Alcatel One Touch Idol 3. It's under $150 and can be found exclusively at cricket wireless. It has a huge HD display, front facing speakers with JBL audio. It has everything you need from a really powerful phone at a great pricepoint.

Oh and that definitely sounds like something that anyone in the family can open up this holiday season. What are some other deals you have for us today?

Well, one of the coolest things that we've seen in the tech world is the Walk-it. It allows you to store all your payment and cards on one secure device. You don't have to worry about losing it, and you can load everything up on there. They also have a $20 off code on their website.

That's a cool idea. Then any store you might be at you don't have to waste time flipping through your wallet looking for the right card.

Then I have a great idea for music lovers. This is Audio-Technica's MSR7. They were awarded best headphones of 2015. They look great, feel great, sound great, and your music lover will appreciate that you did a little research for the best headphones in the area.

So this really is the next step in our music listening world. Last year it was about the beats and this year we have a new set of headphones. Now is this something more for the younger crowd or really anyone who loves music?

It's a little bit higher of a pricepoint so we definitely recommend it for a serious music lover. Those interested in production and performing more than just using it to listen.

Oh wow! Now, do you have any other great deals for us this year?

A lot of the big sites like Target, Walmart, etc are still doing the sitewide deals. We recommend going for the travel deals, beauty supplies, gadgets, and even holiday décor is very big. Holiday Decor sites are trying to get rid of their inventory so it's a good time to stock up on those kinds of items. But don't just think this holiday season, think further out to holidays like Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. Use these deals also take advantage for holidays later in the year.

Oh that is such a great idea because no one ever said these deals had to be used for gifts in the next couple weeks.
