Easy Super Bowl Party Tips
With the big game just around the corner, planning the perfect viewing party or sporting get-together doesn't have to be a chore. Lifestyle and Trends Expert, Justine Santaniello, chatted with me about tips on how to organize a fun and stress-free celebration.
Hey Justine. It's been so long since we last talked and now we are coming up on the Super Bowl this Sunday.
Yes, I can't believe it came so fast.
It did creep up on us, and now you've got some tips to help get everyone Super Bowl ready from the super fans to the partiers.
Yes, definitely. First, I want to start with a statistic for you that is pretty overwhelming. Did you know that the average Big Game party with 30 guests will create 80 pounds of waste? HUGE!
Really? That is A LOT!
A lot! It's not something you typically think about, but that is a huge number. Unilever Project Sunlight is a new initiative encouraging people to live more sustainably. They have created an online quiz to see how eco-friendly you are while including some easy tips on how you can go green for the big games. For example, instead of ordering in pizza with those cardboard boxes you can make your own homemade Chipotle Chicken pizza from Knorr. You can go to www.greenthegame.com for lots of easy tips, and really every small act helps.
Making your own homemade pizza is something fun to take on in the party prep mode. It's so easy to just pick up the phone and call for delivery, but especially when you have a lot of guests to order for it does create quite the trash amount.
An easy way to find the recipe for that homemade pizza is just to go online under Knorr, they will have the recipe for you. Also if you want to decrease your fingerprint, you can also serve the dishes that you are going to make. So for example, if you buy a Chunky Chipotle Chili from Country Crock then you can serve that in your own kitchenware instead of using paper and plastics. And again www.greenthegame.com has a lot of easy tips for you.
And chili is definitely one of those staples items to have on hand for something like a Super Bowl party. You want to have the finger foods and the foods that are perfect for sitting in front of the TV and watching the Big Game while your are eating.
And speaking of those finger foods then, we have some snacks and some main meal ideas here for you. You can never go wrong when it comes to snack-serving with chips and dip. Here we have the Pringles Tortillas. These are crunchy corn tortilla chips in the iconic Pringles shape. They also have delicious flavor on their own and don't necessarily require dip. The come in many different varieties, and Zesty Salsa is my favorite. The best part is you just have to open, put in a bowl, and serve. It's super easy.
Now you also want the main meal to be easy too. This way you can actually enjoy the game. You will never go wrong if you serve wings for the Big Game. Here we have Sonic Drive-Ins Crispy and Juicy Boneless Chicken Wings. They have Buffalo, Asian Sweet Chili, and Barbecue. Now, all the sauces have really bold flavor, so you will taste chipotle and cayenne in the buffalo then some fresh ginger and lemongrass in the Asian Sweet Chili. You can even order Sonic's Flavor Feast, where you get 24 wings in two flavors. It's a family size which also includes four medium drinks. The best part is that you don't have to cook.
That's awesome, because that's one big stress of a lot of people with party planning. They think of all the food and everything that they need to get done in time so they won't have to run around getting things done during the party.
I agree 100%. It's all about making things easy for you, and also to have the right tools on hand in the kitchen. So I want you to check out this Whirlpool Double Drawer French Door Refrigerator. With it's perfect placed system, it has expert designed storage space to store all your Big Game foods and drinks like a freezer pizza pocket, extra gallon door storage, and two drawers...one with five different temperature control settings and one with fresh low produce preserver for all of your fruits and veggies. You can store everything your need right there and make it super easy for you.
Perfect, and then you can find yourself a little more organized on what to serve when and even those guests who insist on helping out can easily find what they are looking for.
Exactly. The whole point is to keep it easy. This isn't some fancy party, this is the SUPER BOWL.
Right. It's not something where everything has to be perfect. It's just family and friends gathering together to hang out and watch football.
Exactly. That's what I like about it personally.
That's always the best part because you can keep it as low key as you want.
Yes, I completely agree. Whatever you think is going to be in your comfort zone, especially if this is going to be your first time throwing a party or hosting. You want to keep it easy so that you don't get overwhelmed.
Exactly. Now do you have any other tips to help keep people from getting overwhelmed?
Of course. When it comes to the décor, remember this isn't some fancy party where you need really original ideas for the décor. Don't underestimate your local party store that will have everything you need for the Big Game from plates, napkins, banners, and everything you need to pick up. It makes it really easy when you just have to go to one place. And if you don't want to go that route then use your teams colors as your theme instead.
That's such a clever idea and you can even create a them out of both teams colors if you have fans of both teams at your party and make it a little fun with some games for who would win.
Yeah, and that's the most fun for throwing the party when you have lots of people rooting for different teams.
Oh I agree. Now where can people go for more tips for getting ready for those Super Bowl parties?
You can go to www.inthenews.tv for all of your game day party tips.
And thanks so much for chatting with me today Justine. It's always a pleasure to get to talk to you today.
You too, Brynn. And enjoy the game.
So with the big game right around the corner, make sure that you keep the party planning simple. This is the kind of party where it's okay to take shortcuts and it's more than okay to keep this low key. Let the big game be the focus of the party.
