Black Friday Toy Deals

Thanksgiving is tomorrow and right now many families are gearing up to host their Thanksgiving dinner. While some stores might be opening later on Thanksgiving Day, many stores are gearing up for the Black Friday rush. Actually a JC Penny and Lowe's Black Friday commercial came on as I was typing this.

So with Black Friday in just two days, it's time to start plotting out those plans for the stores we want to get to and also the gifts we want to purchase. Toy trend expert Reyne Rice has shared with me her must-have list for the kids to help you cross one or two people off that holiday shopping list.

  • The popular Lego Friends Collection, and it takes kids on an adventure in the jungle with the Lego Friends Jungle Rescue Base. This deluxe set include living quarters, a boat, a zipline, slide, two mini-figures, and four animals. It combines building and story-telling adventures for hours of fun. It's compatible with sets from the Jungle series or others ones based on the Friends for the Heartlake City.

  • For younger children on that list, V-Tech has the RC Triceratops. It's their first remote control dinosaur as a new addition to their Switch and Go Turbo Line. It will easily transform from a fierce dinosaur to a sleek race car with the push of a button. You can use the remote to move it and charge the Turbo Boost Lever to give it a burst of speed and hear dinosaur sounds too

  • You can also get the kids up and off the couch with a Moff Band. It's a smart toy, and is powered by motion sensors and kids' creativity. So everyday objects can now be made into a toy. A stick can become a sword, a banana can be a laser, and a broom can be an air guitar. Imagination is the only thing that a kid will need in order to play with this. The Moff Band does have regular updates so kids can constantly be adding new sounds and won't get bored. It's simple to set up and easy to play with. You can even have multiple bands where kids can then play together for even more fun.

  • Another idea for that Black Friday shopping is on the tablet side. We all know that kids love playing with tablets, and Tiggly Counts (from the makers of Tiggly Shapes) now has the first hands on math tour for your tablet. This will make learning math fun. Children can physically move the Tiggly Counts pieces to see, touch, and connect with the math concepts on the tablet. There are three award-winning apps that will help teach counting, addition, and number lines in a fun and engaging way.
