Fitspiration 10/11/14

No one ever said that a workout had to be done all at once. For instance, you could take 30 minutes of a lunch break at work to do some cardio or even take a walk around the block. Then at the end of the day, you could unwind from the day by taking another 30 minute walk.

The key is that if you are willing to schedule that one-hour workout into your day then you will be more likely to turn it from having to schedule into making it a habit.

So to help you stop making excuses and make time for exercise, here are some ideas that I found:

  • Turn your commute into a workout by biking or walking to work.

  • Set your alarm early, and get the workout out of the way first thing.

  • Workout at work by sitting on a stability ball or doing tricep dips in your chair.

  • Multi-task on the treadmill. Grab a pair of dumbbells and get some weight training in while doing a brisk walk.

  • Make it a date and have you and your significant other hold each other accountable to stay fit.

  • Don't just wait in line. The Biggest Loser's Ali Vincent likes to do toe raises, lunges, and squats while waiting in the checkout line.

  • Don't be a couch potato and while you're watching your favorite shows take the time to do some pushups, situps, and jumping jacks.
