Sometimes it's about stepping outside of ourselves and seeing what looks in the moment versus what looks good for a more long term result.
Would you rather reach for that extra slice of cake and be satisfied in the moment or go for a walk around the block and know you're taking care of your body?
I'm not saying that you can't indulge, but think about how you are rewarding your body. If you're goal is to lose weight, should you be rewarding your good habits with junk food. Author and Good Morning America contributor, Tory Johnson, once said that "rewarding yourself with food is like an alcoholic having one beer after a month of sobriety.
So let your motivation be your discipline and let that discipline help you choose between what you want now and what you want most.
