Fitspiration 6/14/14
Earlier this week was the Miss USA pageant and one contestant has received more attention than the winner. Miss Indiana is being praised for being a "normal size" and a "thicker body". While it is nice to see someone who is not a size 0 as a contestant in this pageant, I would like to mention that Miss Indiana is still skinny. The average size of a women her age (25) is 5'3" with a dress size of 12/14. Mekayla Diehl is 5'8" and a size 4.
I wanted to bring this up as this week's fitspiration because beauty is not defined by the number on the scale, and sometimes we can let ourselves get discourage by that number.
The number on the scale will not tell you:
What a great person you are.
How much your friends and family love you.
That you are kind, smart, funny, and amazing in ways numbers cannot define.
That you have the power to choose happiness
Your own self-worth.
Remember, it's just a number. It can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. It can't measure your beauty, talent, purpose, life, force, possibility, strength, and love.
